In recent years, the air blast of large blast furnaces generally requires oxygen enrichment, and the oxygen added to the air blast must be maintained at the required value for production. The oxygen enrichment can be expressed by oxygen enrichment amount or oxygen enrichment rate which means the oxygen content in the blast and the percentage of the oxygen content of the blast higher than that in the air respectively. The oxygen concentration is 21% in the air, oxygen enrichment rate of 3% means the oxygen content of the blast furnace blower is 21%+3%=24%.

The significance of oxygen-enriched blast is to improve the utilization coefficient of blast furnaces while increasing of oxygen enrichment rate can improve the BF output. Oxygen enrichment can not only increase the combustion temperature in front of the tuyere but also can increase the heat content of combustion products per unit in turn. After oxygen enrichment, the oxygen content increases and the nitrogen decreases in the blast. For the same volume of the blast, more carbon is burned, so that the smelting intensity and output of the blast furnace are improved.

As the largest PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) and VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen plant manufacturer in China with the best results in the iron and steel industry, PKU Pioneer has provided more than 60 sets of oxygen equipment for domestic and foreign oxygen-enriched blast furnace iron-making enterprises over nearly 23 years. Among the customers of PKU Pioneer in the iron and steel field, some users adopt more advanced oxygen enrichment before the blower technology to reduce energy consumption and improve iron making efficiency to a greater extent. Therefore, VPSA oxygen production is the best process for iron and steel enterprises to supplement liquid oxygen.
