Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly released the list of enterprises honored as 2025 Energy Efficiency "Leaders" in key industries. This list aims to set industry benchmarks for energy efficiency, promote advanced energy-saving technologies, and lead the green and low-carbon transformation of the industrial sector. A total of 30 enterprises from 14 energy-intensive key industries, including coking from coal, iron and steel, cement, and polyester staple fiber, have been selected this year.
1. Shanxi Liheng Coking Co., Ltd.
As a key component of the fully closed-loop low-carbon industrial chain of Jinnan Iron and Steel Group, Liheng Coking takes energy efficiency as its core and builds a green production system through technological upgrading and refined management. The company has adopted advanced equipment such as tamping coke ovens and full dry quenching systems, and taken the lead in implementing the "5G + Remote One-Key Coking" model, achieving a production efficiency increase of over 30%. Meanwhile, it has carried out waste heat recovery, constructed distributed photovoltaic systems, and innovated steel-coking integrated processes to continuously optimize energy utilization efficiency. Thanks to these initiatives, its coke oven energy consumption per unit product has been reduced to 100.36 kgce/t, exceeding the national advanced standard, and its dry quenching waste heat recovery capacity ranks among the industry's top levels.
Notably, in 2020, Woneng Chemical of Shanxi Liheng Group built a facility with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol co-producing 156 million cubic meters of LNG, using by-product gas from steelmaking converters and coke ovens as raw materials. PKU Pioneer provided the key converter gas carbon monoxide purification unit for this project, contributing to an annual CO₂ emission reduction of approximately 560,000 tons, yielding remarkable economic, social and environmental benefits.
2. Baotou Huading Copper Industry Development Co., Ltd.
As a leading copper smelting enterprise located in Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Inner Mongolia, Huading Copper Industry’s core strength lies in its world-leading "full bottom-blowing and full hot-state triple-furnace continuous copper smelting technology", which significantly boosts production efficiency and reduces energy consumption. The company now has an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of blister copper, 1.1 million tons of sulfuric acid, and a slag processing capacity of 900,000 tons, serving as a critical upstream link in the local copper industrial chain. Currently, Huading Copper Industry is actively advancing the "Green Copper-Based Material Supporting and Chain-Strengthening Project" with a total investment of about 1.592 billion yuan, planning to increase its total smelting capacity to 350,000 tons per year and continue to move toward greener and larger-scale development.
During its nearly two decades of technological upgrading, PKU Pioneer has successively constructed 6 phases of Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption(VPSA) oxygen generation units for the company, with a total oxygen output of 28,900 Nm³/h. Through continuous technological iteration, the power consumption of oxygen generation has been significantly reduced from 0.37 kWh/m³ to below 0.3 kWh/m³, strongly supporting energy conservation and consumption reduction in Huading Copper’s smelting processes.
3.Henan Yuguang Gold & Lead Co., Ltd.
PKU Pioneer has built a VPSA oxygen generation plant for Henan Yuguang Zinc Industry, a subsidiary of Henan Yuguang Group, with an oxygen output of 1,400 Nm³/h and a purity of 93%, which is applied in zinc hydrometallurgy. The successful selection of Yuguang Gold & Lead Co., Ltd., another subsidiary of the group, confirms the group’s profound accumulation in the field of energy conservation and carbon reduction.
As the only selected enterprise in the lead smelting sector (lead concentrate – lead ingot), Yuguang Gold & Lead’s achievement is the result of long-term dedication to energy efficiency management and strict adherence to standard requirements. Its process technology and equipment level lead both domestically and internationally. The company has successively achieved five revolutionary upgrades in China’s lead smelting processes: from sintering pots and sintering machines to oxygen-enriched bottom blowing, then to direct reduction technology for liquid high-lead slag, and finally to large-scale green and intelligent integrated innovative technologies.
4. Yunnan Chihong Resources Comprehensive Utilization Co., Ltd.
Yunnan Chihong Resources Comprehensive Utilization Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive mining enterprise integrating geological exploration, mining, mineral processing, smelting, chemical industry, deep processing, trade and scientific research, with strong comprehensive strength. PKU Pioneer has constructed an oxygen generation system for the company with an output of 5,000 Nm³/h and a purity of 90%, used for solid waste smelting.
The enterprise currently has an annual production capacity of 540,000 tons of lead-zinc concentrate metal, 830,000 tons of refined lead-zinc, 60 tons of germanium metal, 1,000 tons of refined cadmium, and 150 tons of silver products. Its resource reserves and comprehensive competitive strength rank first in China’s lead-zinc industry and fourth in Asia.
