1 Safety, Installation, Storage & Transportation Requirements

1.1 Safety Matters

1.1.1 Vacuum Pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) oxygen generation equipment is a critical device in the production process. Unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from entering the oxygen generation station except for staff.

1.1.2 Smoking and open flames are strictly forbidden within oxygen generation station area. If fire is required for containers or pipeline maintenance, safety measures must be implemented, and work may only proceed after inspection and approval by the safety inspection department.

1.1.3 The oxygen generation station area must be kept clean. Flammable or explosive materials must not be stored in the area, and walkways must remain unobstructed and no stacking of items is allowed.

1.1.4 Operators must undergo safety training and operational procedures training before assuming their duties. They may only work independently after mastering the operation of the oxygen generation equipment.

1.1.5 Operators must wear proper attire and are strictly prohibited from bringing flammable or explosive materials into the oxygen generation station. Operations must strictly comply with the instruction manual.

1.1.6 Warning signs such as "No Open Flames" and "Caution: Safety" must be prominently displayed at the entrance and inside the oxygen generation station.

1.1.7 At least four small dry powder fire extinguishers must be provided within the oxygen generation station.

1.1.8 The oxygen generation station must be equipped with a set of grounding and lightning protection system. The connecting wire shall be a 40x4 flat steel bar, with grounding electrodes buried at least 0.8 meters deep and a grounding resistance of no less than 5 ohms.

1.1.9 Pressure gauges used in PSA oxygen generation equipment must be calibrated annually and sealed with a lead seal after passing inspection.

1.1.10 No pressure-related maintenance work may be performed before the equipment is depressurized.

1.1.11 The air tightness of pipelines and fittings must be checked every two weeks. Any leaks must be repaired promptly, and the equipment may only be restarted after passing inspection.

1.1.12 Each unit is tested and certified before leaving the factory, but transportation and handling may cause damage. Therefore, a thorough inspection of all system components must be conducted before initial startup to prevent malfunctions.

1.1.13 Raw material for PSA oxygen generation is air, so the surrounding environment must be kept free from contamination.

1.2 Installation Technical Requirements

1.2.1 PSA oxygen generation equipment room must be well-ventilated, and the air compressor intake must be clean and uncontaminated.

1.2.2 For detailed installation requirements, refer to the equipment foundation construction drawings.

1.3 Storage & Transportation Conditions

1.3.1 During transportation, the PSA oxygen generation equipment must be protected from inversion, collisions, rain, and severe vibrations.

1.3.2 The packaged oxygen generation equipment must be stored indoors with relative humidity not exceeding 80%, free from corrosive gases, and with good ventilation.

2 Equipment Maintenance

2.1 Notice

2.1.1 Oxygen storage tanks are classified as Class I pressure vessels and must undergo regular inspections in accordance with national regulations, and are subject to supervision by local boiler inspection authorities.

2.1.2 When maintaining equipment, ensure that the pressure in instrument air lines and all pipelines is reduced to zero before disassembling any components.

2.1.3 Piping connections must not be made unless the fixed end is securely anchored.

2.1.4 Flow meters must be opened slowly to avoid damage from excessive gas velocity.

2.1.5 Carefully read the equipment instruction manual for proper operation and maintenance. Strictly follow the manual’s requirements and be fully aware of all relevant precautions.
