The VPSA oxygen system mainly includes blowers, vacuum pumps, switching valves, adsorbers and oxygen buffer tanks.

(1) Blower: The blower is equipped with a pipe at the entrance to collect the air and continuously provide a certain pressure to create conditions for oxygen production. The blower provides air for the whole oxygen system. According to the design conditions of the VPSA oxygen equipment, combined with the user's practical operating situation, the blower whose vent pressure meets the design conditions is selected for air supply.

(2) Vacuum pump: It needs to cooperate with the former circulating water pump to achieve a larger pumping speed in a large pressure range and is insensitive to the dust and vapor contained in oxygen. The vacuum state is maintained by the vacuum degree adjustment and the continuous rotation of the pump. The vacuum pump ensures the normal desorption in each adsorption cycle by keeping the system in an ideal vacuum state and helps complete the continuous N2 adsorption and O2 generation by coordinating with the blower.

(3) switching valve: pneumatic switching valves installed in the hot end of the cold storage gas. This device can effectively avoid damage to the low-pressure unit and can meet the needs of high and low-pressure testing.

(4) Adsorber: The system consists of 2 adsorption towers with molecular sieve adsorbent inside, pipes and valves. The air enters from the bottom of one of the adsorption vessels where nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water vapor in the air are adsorbed when the air flows through the adsorbent bed, while oxygen is collected through the adsorption bed and discharged as product gas at the top of the adsorber. At the same time, the other adsorption tower is in the regeneration mode. When the adsorption tower is almost saturated, the air is sent to the regenerated tower to start the adsorption and oxygen production under the intervention of the control system. The two adsorption towers are alternately rotated to achieve continuous oxygen generation.

(5) Buffer tank: A large storage tank is usually required to meet the continuous oxygen production.

After 23 years of technological accumulation and optimization, PKU Pioneer has built 300+ sets of industrial VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen plants for customers in many fields at domestic and abroad such as India, Italy, Congo, Brazil, Russia, Korea, etc. The oxygen capacity of a single project reaches 100,000Nm3/h, and the total flow exceeds 1700,000Nm3/h, making PKU Pioneer the world's leading supplier of VPSA and PSA oxygen equipment.
